What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is an alternative therapy originated from Germany 200 years ago by a Physician named Samuel Hahnemann. Homeopathy is now widespread throughout Europe, Russia, India, Central and South America, Australia, and South Africa.
Homeopathy is based on the principles” Law of Similars”. The word 'homoeopathy' is derived from the Greek 'homoios' meaning similar and 'pathos' meaning 'suffering' - i.e.: similar suffering. The Law of Similars simply means that a substance which creates symptoms in a healthy person will cure a sick person with similar symptoms.
Homeopathy in the USA
In 1991, Congress established the Office of Alternative Medicine within the National Institutes of Health to encourage scientific research in the field. The National Institutes of Health Revitalization Act of June 1993 was a landmark.
Estimated expenditures for professional complementary/alternative medical services increased 45.2% between 1990 and 1997. For 1997, these expenditures are conservatively estimated at $21.2 billion with at least $12.2 billion of this paid out-of- pocket. Total 1997 out-of-pocket expenditures relating to complementary/alternative therapies are conservatively estimated at $27 billion, which is comparable with the projected 1997 out-of-pocket expenditures for all physician services. Just over half of patients (64% in 1990 and 58.3% in 1997) of complementary/alternative medical practitioners pay entirely out-of-pocket for the services.

How does homeopathic treatment works?
Homeopathy not just targets the organs for cure, but cures the whole person as an individual. In treatment, persons are not divided into different parts like stomach, GI, Brain, but are considered as one unit involving a physical plane, mental-emotional plane and a generality aspect of that individual. The therapy is very individualistic and different individuals have different vibrations that individualize them a unit. Homeopathy identifies these individual vibrations and select a homeopathic remedy that vibrates with them the most (most similar called as a Simillimum). This remedy helps the healing capacity of individual called “body’s energy” or “Vital Force” (A force that is vital or important to maintain a normal functioning of the human body).
Are homeopathic remedies safe?
Homeopathic remedies are FDA approved and readily available at Health Food stores and homeopathic pharmacies.
There are over 3,000 homeopathic remedies but only one that exactly matches the disease state of an individual; it requires a trained homeopath to recognize this remedy. Through their special preparation, homeopathic remedies are rendered non-toxic while their potency is actually increased through a combination of dilution and succussion (shaking.) Thus, inert substances can become powerful medicines, and toxic ones can become safe and curative.
Remedies used by homeopathic practitioners are made of natural sources like minerals, plants, or animals, and are prepared in such a way that they are devoid of all chemical toxicity. Homeopathic remedies are safe (even for pregnant women and babies) and cause no side effects. They are over-the-counter medications, regulated by the FDA. Remedies can be ordered from:
